List of movies with lots of kissing scenes, death scenes, explosions?

March 6th, 2010 by admin

 Powered by Max Banner Ads

I am doing an animation project and am looking for some movies that have a lot of the mentioned attributes.

I am basically using sound from these movies and could use some input on movies that contain a lot of the following. Movies with sounds of:

-kissing
-death, groaning, moaning, general bodily harm
-Explosions

I have the Notebook, a few war movies, and a few Horror Movies already. But any suggestions would really help. They don’t have to have all 3 in it. A movie with just kissing is fine for example! Thanks!

Try James Bond silly.

The Best of 1930s Anti Cannabis Propaganda Films

March 5th, 2010 by admin

Everyone loves looking back at the straight faced seriousness of 1930s propaganda films, and laughing at the ignorant scare mongering that was once taken as fact. The cannabis world has some excellent examples of that, and these three films have recently been released as a box set for marijuana seed growers everywhere to see the ‘evil’ of their ways…

Marihuana (1936)

This follows a familiar theme of the exploitation film, and the promotional poster really showed these routes nicely. The phrases “daring drug expose” and “shame, horror, despair” appear above the subheading “WEED with ROOTS In HELL” and the promise of “Weird Orgies, Wild Parties” and “Unleashed Passions” appear at the bottom. With this in mind, surely the film can’t disappoint? Well, judge for yourself with its outlandish pot-plot: Berma is a typically good young girl who gets addicted to marijuana after one puff at a party… which turns deadly!

One of the revellers drowns as they all head naked down to the water. The dealers hide the body, and our heroine, out of her mind on the film’s version of marijuana, gets pregnant. To cover the costs, her boyfriend gets a job working for some of the dealers, before getting promptly shot on his first day ‘at the office’. Berma, now impoverished, is forced to give up the baby and become a drug pusher herself. Jealous of her sister who has managed to have a daughter of her own, the increasingly drug addled Berma decides that kidnapping said child for a $50,000 ransom is a great idea – only it turns out that the child is actually her own biological daughter. All this culminates with the dealers getting arrested, and our heroine taking an overdose of harder drugs and dying – and all because she smoked marijuana, kids.

Reefer Madness (1936)

Very much viewed as the ‘Casablanca’ of 1930s Cannabis exploitation films, Reefer Madness has gone down in folklore as such a classic that 20th Century Fox released a colourised version of the film straight to DVD in 2004. The unrealistic colours used add to the campy humour its now seen as, and an especially nice touch is the smoke from the marijuana, which is made to appear blue, green, orange and purple with each shade showing a different level of addiction.

The plot is a little too complicated to explain here (it makes The Usual Suspects look like The Fast and the Furious), but hopefully the movie’s idea of cannabis side effects will inspire you to rent this legendary flick:

  • Manic laughing while committing hit and run manslaughter
  • Having sex with people you don’t like
  • Accidentally shooting your friends
  • Memory loss to the degree you don’t remember being framed for murder

And most hilariously of all:

  • Playing the piano faster than humanly possible.

If you know anyone who does these things, you should probably stage an intervention or something.

The film, which takes the form of a parable told by a high school principal, finishes with said educator warning the parents that similar consequences could happen to their children. He states “the next tragedy may be that of your daughter’s… or your son’s… or yours, or yours…” before finally pointing to the camera and dramatically stating “or YOURS!” The words “tell your children” appear across the screen, and we fade out, left to worry that one day we too may play the piano exceptionally fast.

Assassin of Youth (1937)

Probably the least entertaining of the three, but not without its charms, Assassin of Youth has a more focussed plot. An elderly woman is killed in a car crash with a cannabis addicted youth (naturally). Her inheritance is left to her pure but simple grand daughter Joan on the condition that she leads a moral life. If she fails in this, the money goes to her evil drug dealing cousin. Unsurprisingly, the evil one goes out of her way to make the heroine look like a depraved, drunken and high reprobate by way of getting the money.

The best thing about the film (aside from the hilariously over the top side effects of marijuana) is just how terrible the dialogue is. At one point, our favourite simpleton Joan is approached by a stranger who has just spiked her drink:

Joan: “Gee, this tastes funny.”

Stranger: “Don’t worry. Just drink it.”

Joan: “Okay”

With a quick wittedness like that, you have to worry for her happy ending, where she does indeed get the money. She probably ended up investing in some magic beans.

It’s her sister Margie that lives up to the film’s promised marijuana abuse though, and eventually ends up in a coma, having almost killed someone and been diagnosed by a doctor as “a hopeless psychopath” – another example of the excellent dialogue.

If this has whet your appetite for stoner movies with a difference, all three films can be bought as part of a boxset from all good DVD sellers. For the full effect, make sure you watch them back to back!

Has Television Changed You?

February 27th, 2010 by admin

 Powered by Max Banner Ads

A WINDOW on the world. That is how television has been described. In the book Tube of Plenty—The Evolution of American Television, author Erik Barnouw notes that by the early 1960’s, for most people [television] had become their window on the world. The view it offered seemed to be the world. They trusted its validity and completeness.

However, a mere window cannot select the view it presents you it cannot determine the lighting or the angle of view nor can it abruptly change the view just to hold your interest. TV can. Such factors dramatically shape your feelings and conclusions about what you are looking at, yet they are controlled by the people who produce TV shows. Even the most unbiased of newscasts and documentaries are subject to such manipulation, however unintentional it may be.

A Master Seducer

Most often, though, the people who control television are trying outright to influence viewers. In advertising, for instance, they have virtually free rein to use every seductive gimmick at their disposal to lure you into the mood to buy. Color. Music. Beautiful people. Eroticism. Gorgeous locales. Their repertoire is vast, and they use it masterfully.

A former advertising executive wrote of his 15 years in the field: I learned that it is possible to speak through media [such as TV] directly into people’s heads and then, like some otherworldly magician, leave images inside that can cause people to do what they might otherwise never have thought to do.

That television has such formidable power over people was already evident in the 1950’s. A lipstick company that was making $50,000 a year began to advertise on U.S. television. In two years, sales skyrocketed to $4,500,000 a year! A bank was suddenly avalanched with $15,000,000 in deposits after it advertised its services on a TV program popular with women.

Today, the average American watches over 32,000 commercials every year. The ads play seductively on the emotions. As Mark Crispin Miller wrote in Boxed In—The Culture of TV: It is true that we are manipulated by what we watch. The commercials that pervade daily life influence us incessantly. This manipulation, he adds, is dangerous precisely because it is often hard to discern, and so it will not fail until we learn how to perceive it.

But television sells more than lipstick, political viewpoints, and culture. It also sells morals—or the lack of them.

TV and Morals

Few people would be surprised to learn that sexual behavior is depicted more and more frequently on American TV. A study published in 1989 in Journalism Quarterly found that in 66 hours of prime-time network TV, there were in all 722 instances of sexual behavior, whether implied, referred to verbally, or actually depicted. Examples ranged from erotic touching to intercourse, masturbation, homosexuality, and incest. The average was 10.94 instances every hour!

The United States is hardly unique in this matter. French TV movies depict explicit sexual sadism. Striptease acts appear on Italian TV. Late-night Spanish TV features violent and erotic films. The list goes on and on.

Violence is another type of TV immorality. In the United States, a TV critic for Time magazine recently praised the grisly good humor in a batch of horror programs. The series featured scenes of decapitation, mutilation, impalement, and demonic possession. Of course, much TV violence is less gruesome—and more easily taken for granted. When Western television was demonstrated recently in a remote village in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa, one bewildered old man could only ask: Why are whites always stabbing, shooting and punching one another?

The answer, of course, is that television producers and sponsors want to give viewers what viewers want to see. Violence draws viewers. Sex does too. So TV serves up ample portions of both of them—but not too much too soon, or the viewers will be repelled. As Donna McCrohan put it in Prime Time, Our Time: Most top shows go as far as they can with language, sex, violence, or subject matter then, having gone to the edge, they take the edge off. Subsequently, the public is ready for a new edge.

For example, the subject of homosexuality was once considered beyond the edge of good taste for television. But once viewers got used to it, they were ready to accept more. A French journalist asserted: No producer would ever dare present homosexuality as a deviation today . . . Rather it is society and its intolerance that are odd. On American cable television, a ‘gay soap opera’ premiered in 11 cities in 1990. The program featured scenes of males in bed together. The show’s producer told Newsweek magazine that such scenes were designed by gays to desensitize the audience so that people will realize we’re like everybody else.

Watch Full Movie Free Online and Kids Watch Safe Movies Picked by Discerning Parents

February 27th, 2010 by admin

Watch full movie free online kids’ favorites and give the kids some safe online movie watching time without the influences of TV commercials or cable previews. When you watch movie online video feature films, you can choose the movies you feel are safe for your kids to watch, and you can determine when they watch them. It may even motivate Johnny and Janey to do their homework and chores a little faster.

If you watch movie online video features for kids on the self-regulated environment of the Internet, you can watch full movie free online videos and even free movie downloads that are appropriate for your child’s age. Movies in the theaters, and movies on television and cable movie channels have all relaxed their standards on acceptability standards viewed by a prime-time movie audience. Movie previews and television commercials can contain scary movie graphics and language that would not be allowed in your household. Deciding to get rid of the TV and cable movie channels and relying on the self-directive nature of the ability to watch full movie free online full feature films at your discretion can improve the environment for your children and keep them from viewing violent or suggestive scenes that aren’t appropriate for their age level.

Being able to watch full movie free online family favorites, like Disney and Pixair, along with historical movies, documentaries, holiday family movies, touching family drama movies or safe family comedy movies, without the interruptions of age inappropriate influences, can give you the freedom to gain a little more time for yourself, as you don’t have to constantly peer over the kids’ shoulders to see if you’re going to be getting up for some nightmares due to the latest gory horror movie previews that were on-air just a little too long for your four or five year old to tolerate.

Being able to watch full movie free online kids favorites also means that you can watch series and sequels in order – and you don’t have to worry about seeing Sequel 3 or Part 3 of the movie before you’ve seen Sequel 2 or Part 2 of the movie. One of the greatest benefits to parents when you watch full movie free online family specials, is that you can control the time that your kids view the movie. Granted, you don’t use your VCR, DVD Player and movies on TV or movie cable channels for a full-time babysitter, but there are those moments when you have an important call, need some time to prepare dinner, or you just want to finish the end of your suspense novel. Going online and having your kids watch full movie free online kids specials while you get things done is safe and productive – and sometimes a sanity saver. It’s also a great way to solve any movie choice conflicts or indecisions that might occur on “movie night” for your family. Family movies can be browsed and researched online, and if you can’t decide – it doesn’t cost anything extra to stay up late and watch both.

Watch full movie free online kids favorite film features that are more fun, safe and exciting than the movies on TV and movie cable channels. Don’t let the TV influence your kids with age inappropriate material. Research your kids movies and watch full movie free online kids specials and sequels as many times as you want without any cost. If you watch full movie free online kids specials instead of TV, you’re giving your kids a safe and fun environment – and safe and fun is how every kid’s environment should be.

Top Five Horror Movie

February 27th, 2010 by admin

 Powered by Max Banner Ads

To accompany my hot conductor to five memorable horror movies of the 80s is this listing of the top 5 horror picture monsters. “Monster movies” in the classic sagacity are rejection longer in craze, but the impression of “monster” remains in reinvented form. These five horror picture monsters are all memorable in support of their evil, their destructive capability, or their horrific form.

Dracula: The solitary “monster” of classic picture monsters to live - the Wolf be in charge of, the Mummy, and Frankenstein’s monster all pale in comparison to the Prince of Darkness. Dracula has been in countless movies, the for the most part hot being Bram Stoker’s Dracula with Gary Oldman as Count Vlad the Impaler. Dracula’s powers vary from picture to picture, but next to the central part he is an ancient vampire with the power to hypnotize his victims.

Alien: When Ridley Scott’s Alien was released in 1979, rejection solitary had eternally seen something like it already. The alien is all but silent, fast, with an exoskeleton and acid in support of blood. Oh, and it lays its eggs inside folks. Unlike certain Horror Movies wherever it seems disbelieving to facilitate the beast would not at all break down, this alien was scarily believable as a cunning marauder to facilitate can outthink its victims.

Pinhead: Here Hellraiser, “Pinhead” is the nickname certain to a terrifying man summoned to drag his victims to a earth of throbbing in favor of pleasure’s sake. His nickname comes from his outward show - a surface covered in needles. He’s impervious to throbbing, relentless, and says things like “We’ll tear your soul apart!” as he and his gang of Cenobytes advance on their intended recruit to bring back to misery.

The Thing: The monster in John Carpenter’s The Thing had veto assign. It was an alien parasite with the purpose of might take on the outward show of its prey. It bent an air of paranoia in the polar exploration sort with the purpose of haplessly stumbled into its hideout. Here the nearly all memorable location, it changes form in advance Kurt Russell’s eyes, sketchily appearing as a human being headed spider. How’s with the purpose of in favor of a horror motion picture monster?

The Jaws Shark: From, you guessed it, the motion picture Jaws. Ok, so a shark is not a monster. But in the context of a marauder scary humans splashing around on the beach, it set aside many nation not permitted of the hose down (in real life). It too made nation aware of the sheer size and vicious power of sharks, and come again? They might achieve to their victims.

How to Write Horror and Dark Fantasy Novels

February 27th, 2010 by admin

First of all, which is the difference between horror and dark fantasy? Well, dark fantasy is a variant of the horror genre and differs from the main one by the fanciful character. Let’s see therefore how we can write our novel: the quality of your writing is the main step that comes from the intensive reading of the best books available, are you a good critic of the most known novels ? You will be probably a good critic of yourself. A good writer can write everything, so first try to be a good writer and if you already are then you can specialize yourself in a specific genre.

When we are writing our novel we want to get very detailed in the description of the scenes, of the people involved and of their thinking and of their way to act and to feel: doing this will help our reader to create, word after word, a landscape in his mind that will not happen if we are superficial in our exposing. Also the organization of the novel is very important: we must have in our mind the main idea that is about the story expressed in few sentences, then, like in a tree in which we start from the trunk and we arrive at the branches and then to the twigs, we subdivide it in episodes and then in scenes. We will start writing these last ones very carefully to assemble them rather to create our episodes that put together will be our complet novel.

When writing our novel we want to get absorbed completely, it should excite for first us so let’s write in the right mood and if we are not then it’s better to have a walk, when we have finished something then we can read it again and see if does us the same as before. When we have completed our opera then we can read it again from the beginning to the end and if we are proud of it then it’s time to sell it.

How can we promote our dark fantasy or horror novel ? Well,to avoid the printing before the selling we can use lulu.com that charge us only for printing that is made only for the copies that are sold, but to get readers to us we should use article marketing technique that is about writing articles and sending them to the article directories that can be found by searching Google by “article directories”: our articles should be reviews of famous novels or movies since we can’t put here excerpts of our book, at their end we should put a link to our sales page in which we give for free download an excerpt of our novel. This excerpt should be long enough to capture the attention of our reader and should be an incomplete episode in which there is not its final: this will create the required suspense to generate the need of the book itself, at its end we will put a link to the page from which it can be ordered.

Upcoming Musical Horror movie, from the makers of Saw?

February 22nd, 2010 by admin

I don’t know where or when, but I saw a movie trailer recently for some kind of musical horror film, and I remember the trailer saying something like "From the makers/producers/director of Saw." And I THINK that i remember the trailer saying that Jonny Depp was going to be in it. This is NOT Sweeny Todd. Does anyone know what the title of this movie is, and where I can find the trailer again? I’ve looked all over the internet and I can not find anything about this movie.

It Repo! The Genetic Opera, one of my favorite movies of all time. You can watch some clips here:

Horror Movies-get Entertained With Fright

February 21st, 2010 by admin

Horror movies give us thrill and spine chilling entertainment. These movies are filled with suspense, scary characters and unanticipated turmoil that recreates the environment of sheer fright. This genre of cinema has been immensely popular and with the advancement of films, it has also come a long way. The old age frightening ghost and tumultuous characters like Frankenstein and Dracula have scared the audiences for years. With the advent of technology and enhanced graphics, uglier and more abhorrent characters have been introduced on the silver screen. The movie makers are seeking new ways to manifest the evil and fiery outlook in the films. These movies have great graphics and admirable characterization which unveil the mystery and fear at every turn.

Horror Movies began to gain popularity in 19th century with movies like Le Manoir du Diable (The House of the Devil). However the first ever popular movie of this genre is the Dracula that was released in 1931. Dracula was the first ever scary evil that sucked human blood. At the same time Frankenstein also frightened the people. The Mummy was released in 1932. All these top horror movies became hits as soon as they were released.

In 1960’s Psycho was released which did not feature any monsters or supernatural events but focused on the evil that exists within every human being. By the 1970’s coloured films arrived on the scene and at the same time some of the scariest movies were showcased. The colour of blood gave the movies more devious appeal. Exorcist was released in 1973 that shocked the entire world with its monstrous and atrocious characters. The Omen was another frightening movie. By the 1974 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre hit the big screen with great bang.

In 1978 Halloween was released which is considered as one of the most significant and scary horror movie. This movie was a smash hit and it gave immense popularity to actor Michael Myers as a villain. He played Will Sandin who was locked in a mental asylum for years. He killed his sister at the age of six and became more gruesome afterwards. Other top Horror Movies are The Ring, The Grudge, Nightmare on Elm Street, Saw and the Hostel.
